Public space and the way it is used to promote or obstruct creativity was explored in “Making Space” at Zealous X Talks. The panel featured Kirsten Dunne (Senior Cultural Strategy Officer, Mayors Office), Dr. Rebecca Ross (Creator, London is Changing) and Ksenia Zemtsova (Co-Founder, Unlimited Productions), and was hosted by Nick Ewbank (Founder, Nick Ewbank Associates) . Dr. Ross discussed her concern that most redevelopment projects within the capital were driven by the need to package an area for external investors rather than the needs or wishes of the local community. Kirsten Dunne raised the notion of cultural disruption, citing the example of the 4th plinth as an exciting space which allows bold statements and play in the heart of the city.
